Tru Blue by Melissa Foster was a beautifully uplifting story about a man willing to sacrifice his own happiness in order to protect the ones he loves. Truman Gritt spent the last six years locked up for a crime he didn’t commit. Upon his release, he was ready to start over and get his life back on track. What he didn’t expect was his life to be turned upside down when his mother dies of an overdose. Overnight he finds himself a single father, vowing to raise the two young children she left behind, the ones he had no clue existed until that night. Truman doesn’t know the first thing about taking care of children, but luckily he meets Gemma that very night at the local Walmart. Gemma Wright, the owner of the successful Princess for a Day Boutique becomes his saving grace. Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she grew up lonely and ignored by her mother after her father’s suicide. When she comes across Truman struggling to buy the proper supplies for the children, she of course sweeps in to help him out. Not only does her heart melt for the children, but she finds herself falling for the man with a heart of gold. Tru Blue is technically an instant romance story, but the author did an extraordinary job making sure that it was unique. Truth is, Truman and Gemma’s romance is anything but ordinary. I absolutely fell in love with their story because it was filled with passion and love that captured my attention from beginning to end. I cannot wait until Bear’s story is released so that I can re-enter the world of these amazing characters! :)
