Bib·li·o·phile Fridays #2 - National Family Literacy Month!

Bib·li·o·phile Fridays is a brand new weekly meme hosted by me and Foxes and Fairy Tales on our blogs and you can find more information on our Goodreads group page. We've created this original weekly meme in honor of the bib·li·o·phile population (we are a dying breed you know). We’re super excited to share this with our readers and we hope you will all join us in our fight to raise awareness for the bib·li·o·phile population. Just a reminder, my co-host is currently hosting a giveaway (ending November 23) on her blog in promotion for our new weekly meme. Head on over to her site to enter today!

This weeks theme is... National Family Literacy Month! Pick 5 books that feature awesome book families (blood-related or not).

Be My Hero by Linda Kage

Series: Forbidden Men #3 Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance Release Date: August 25, 2014 Buy Now: Amazon / B&N / Kobo Synopsis Once upon a time, there was this pampered rich girl who was kind of full of herself. She really only cared about appearances and hiding all her dark, ugly secrets under the guise of an opinionated snob. But then Eva Mercer got pregnant, shot by a psycho, and kicked out of the only home she knew. Now she’s broke, unemployed, and has to start anew with a newborn to raise. But how? On the other side of town, sexy, tattooed orphan, Patrick Ryan, can’t get a break. He’s out on parole for defending the last damsel in distress while trying to help her support her child, but all he wants is to find his one true love. He knows this woman by scent, smile, and laugh, but he’s never actually met her. He doesn’t even know her name. He just knows she’s the key to fixing everything. One kind of hero can save you from physical harm. Another can rescue you from a different kind of doom. To reach their dreams, Eva and Pick can save each other. But first, they must open their hearts and learn how to trust.

I have been a fan of Linda Kage since the very beginning. The first Forbidden Men book Price of a Kiss (Forbidden Men #1) was published in August 15, 2013 and I've been hooked ever since. I love everyone of the books in the series because the characters are like one big family! There is so much love and friendship in this series that I'm sad that there is only one more book to come.

I chose to feature Be My Hero (Forbidden Men #3) because Pick and Eva's story is absolutely one of my all-time favorites. Linda Kage did an extraordinary job writing a book that capture the true essence of a family. Pick is an amazing father to his son who will do anything to protect the one's he loves and Eva has really blossomed since the first book. She's no longer the party girl, but the mother to the cutest little girl! If you haven't read the Forbidden Men series then what are you waiting for? Go buy the entire series now! GO DO IT NOW! You won't regret it! Trust me...

About Linda Kage

I grew up on a dairy farm in the Midwest as the youngest of eight children. Now I live in Kansas with my husband, two daughters, our nine cuckoo clocks, and a cat named Holly. My life's been blessed with lots of people to learn from and love. Writing's always been a major part my world, and I'm so happy to finally share some of my stories with other romance lovers.

Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo

Series: Bellevue Bullies #1 Genre: New Adult, Sports Release Date: September 6, 2014 Buy Now: Amazon / B&N / Kobo

Synopsis Jude Sinclair here, hockey player for the Bellevue Bullies and lover of all ladies. Hockey’s in my blood, and not to sound full of myself, but I’m good at it…really good. The draft is within my reach—it’s mine to take—but that’s not the only reason people know my name. They know me because of my way with women. They know the score, and I aim to please. I just tend to stay away from repeat performances. In other words, I don’t do relationships beyond my family and friends. I’m happy with life. However, I should warn you that my story and how I see it playing out is about to change due to a certain redhead on campus. She’s beautiful. Stunning. Breathtaking. She’s my game changer. *** He’s trouble from the moment I see him. I don’t know what I’m thinking, but from the moment I meet his gaze, I’m his. It’s a scary feeling. I’ve never trusted anyone outside my aunt and uncle—and even that took months. I didn’t have it easy growing up. My mom was usually strung out, and she didn’t give me a second thought. Drugs and the men who paid her were more important to her. It was horrible, but I’m stronger today. Because of my past, security is what I need most. Money assures me that I can take care of myself today, tomorrow, and next month. I don’t want to ever be hungry or go without again, so I work hard for every penny. Oh, by the way, I’m Claire Anderson. I’m a hard-studying sophomore at the University of Bellevue, dancer for the school dance team, and a burlesque dancer at a club, but that’s my secret. You may think you know how our story ends, but you have no clue. It’s not easy falling in love… or living happily ever after. At first it may seem so, but when is anything worth having ever won without a fight? Especially when you’re boarded by love.

You cannot help but fall in love with Jude Sinclair and his entire family. If you have read Toni Aleo's book Breaking Away (Assassins #5), then you've already met Claire Anderson and her one-of-a-kind family (Phillip Anderson, Reese Allen, and the rest of the Assassins Family). Toni Aleo not only does an extraordinary job at writing about the perfect romances, but she also does a great job building the perfect family atmosphere. The Sinclair family (minus the father who is a total a-hole) makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you read their stories.

I decided to feature this book because it perfectly matches this weeks theme. If you haven't had a chance to meet the Sinclair family, then go and pick up your copies today! :)

About Toni Aleo

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork. I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic. I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play! When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel. I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle. ...and did I mention I love hockey?
